Coming to Mizzou to study business opened my mind to a world of opportunity I never knew existed. I was a first generation college student, and so I had no way of knowing the influence college would have over my life. In the end, my Mizzou experience has defined so much of it.
This is what motivates me to stay involved as an alum. As the new volunteer president of the Mizzou Alumni Association, I’m committed to giving back to the institution that gave me so much. I’ve served several roles for the MAA including treasurer and vice president, and as president of the Mizzou Tiger Club–St. Louis and a member of the School of Accountancy Advisory Board. I am now partner at RubinBrown LLP in St. Louis, but I balance my work with service to MU because this institution means so much to me.
As the 2019–2020 MAA president, I plan to engage with alumni and encourage everyone to boost their involvement, whether that’s through joining the Mizzou Alumni Association, participating in activities, volunteering time or giving money. I want us all to be advocates and ambassadors for MU. I’m a proud father of two grads, my son Steven and my daughter Laura. I’m here for them as much as I’m here for Mizzou – this is a place worth investing in.
I hope to see you at one of our alumni events this year, and I welcome your ideas for how we can work together. You can reach me at MAAPresident@Missouri.edu if you’d like to share your thoughts on how we can make Mizzou stronger.
